After confirming the infection of bird flu at the Government Poultry Husbandry Center in Baikunthpur, the administration took quick steps and held an emergency meeting under the chairmanship of Collector Chandan Tripathi late at night. In this meeting, many important decisions were taken to prevent the infection from spreading.
A special team was immediately formed by the district administration and sent to the poultry rearing center, where the destruction process was started under the supervision of veterinarians. During this time, several dozen workers used to destroy infected chickens, eggs and other birds using pests and masks. According to the information received, 19,095 eggs, 9,998 chunj, 2,487 adult chickens and 2,448 quails present in the center will be completely destroyed.
In view of the increasing threat of infection, Collector Chandan Tripathi has ordered that the sale of chicken and eggs in poultry shops located within a radius of one kilometer of Baikunthpur city should be banned with immediate effect. Also, people have been appealed not to shop for chicken and eggs and take special care of their health.
The administration has also deployed teams in other areas to assess the impact of bird flu. These teams will examine other poultry farms and markets in the district, so that the spread of infection can be prevented. The health department and the joint team of veterinarians are keeping an eye on every situation by taking vigilance.
