Raipur. Senior BJP leader Brijmohan Agrawal resigned from the post of MLA today after becoming an MP. Agrawal submitted his resignation to the Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh. During this time, many leaders including MLA Ajay Chandrakar, MLA Purandar Mishra, Anuj Sharma, former MP Sunil Soni were present.
After resigning, Brijmohan Agrawal said, I am starting a new innings. I will keep getting your love and affection. I apologize to the people of Raipur South. I have had to leave the post of MLA with a new responsibility. I will keep raising issues of public interest in Parliament.
Let us tell you that in the recent Lok Sabha elections, Brijmohan Agarwal had registered a big victory from Raipur Lok Sabha. He defeated Congress candidate Vikas Upadhyay by about 6 lakh votes.
Know the political journey of Brijmohan Agarwal
Brijmohan Agrawal was born on 1 May 1959 in Raipur. He has done post graduation in both commerce and arts and also has LLB degree. He married Sarita Devi Agrawal in 1986. They have 2 sons and 1 daughter. He has held the post of minister even before the partition of Madhya Pradesh. He has also been awarded the Best MLA award by Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Brijmohan joined Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in 1977 at the age of just 16. He was also the president of the student union during 1981 and 1982. He became a member of Bharatiya Janata Party in 1984. He was also the youth minister of BJYM from 1988 to 1990. In 1990, he was elected MLA for the first time in Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He was the youngest MLA of the state. Since then he was elected MLA in 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2013, 2018 and 2023.
