Sushil Salaam, Kanker. A case of cyber fraud of Rs 9 lakh 50 thousand from a BSF jawan has come to light in the district. Kanker SP Divyang Patel said that the BSF jawan has registered a case of cyber fraud at Bande police station. BSF jawan is posted in Kanhargaon Camp as Inspector in 94 Corps.
Bande police station in-charge said that the BSF jawan’s account is in the State Bank of India branch Farrukhabad, where to convert the account into a CAPSP account, the jawan had searched the mobile number of the bank manager of the Farrukhabad branch in Google. After the search, the jawan called on the number found in Google and wanted information about changing the account to CAPSP, but the fraudster told him to change the account online and made the jawan download an application in the name of Customer App from Google Play Store.
The BSF jawan entered the account information in that app and after entering the OTP, Rs 9 lakh 50 thousand were withdrawn from his account. On the application of the jawan, a case under section 420 has been registered and further action is being taken.
