Purushottam Patra, Gariaband. Chhattisgarh State Rural Bank management on Monday sealed the residence of Chhura District President Tokeshwari Manjhi located at Amamapara. Before this action, the bank management had placed the matter before District Magistrate Deepak Agarwal in Gariaband Collectorate.
In the case, the bank management informed that Tokeshwari Manjhi and her husband Kadam Manjhi had taken a home loan of 20 lakhs on 6 August 2019, but by 14 December, the total liability for the said amount including interest of 2 lakh 76 thousand had become 22 lakh seventy six thousand. The outstanding amount was not paid on time. After the hearing, following the order passed by District Magistrate Deepak Agarwal, the bank management took action to seal the house located in Aamapara on Monday.
On discussing this matter with Chhura Tehsildar Ramesh Mehta, he told that the Gariaband Collector has seized the house and given physical possession to the bank. The matter is of loan, the person concerned had taken loan from the bank and did not return the money. During this, regional manager Harvinder Singh, Amber Gupta, Pradeep Gehrwal BM were present.
