Raipur. Police has exposed a gang involved in chain snatching and vehicle theft in the capital. The police have arrested three accused, including an interstate national, who had committed more than half a dozen incidents in different police station areas of the city. The accused mostly made elderly women their victims. Along with the accused who carried out the incident, the person providing protection has also been arrested. Before carrying out the incident, the accused used to cover their faces and put fake number plates in the vehicle to hide their identity. 5 pieces of gold chain, 2 pieces of gold ring weighing approximately 10 tola 7 grams have been seized from the possession of the accused. Stolen Pulsar bikes, Activa and Access used in the incident have also been seized. The value of the seized Mashrooka is approximately Rs 10,16,900.

According to the information, a special team of Anti Crime and Cyber ​​Unit and Police Station Civil Lines was formed on the continuous incidents of chain snatching and vehicle theft. The team began to trace the unknown accused by interrogating the applicants in detail regarding the incidents. At the same time, they started scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in and around the incident site and along with doing technical analysis regarding the unknown accused, they also recruited informers. Meanwhile, the team engaged in the arrest of unknown accused got important information regarding the accused Sarvesh Dubey, who had been jailed in chain snatching cases in the past also. On which the team traced Sarvesh Dubey and arrested him. When interrogated regarding the incidents of chain snatching, he along with his associates Kailash Yadav and Krishna Kumar Meshram told that they carried out the above incidents of vehicle theft including chain snatching. After which the police team arrested the accused Kailash Yadav and Krishna Kumar Meshram involved in the incident.

During interrogation, the accused told that all three lived in Gobaranvapara and used to plan and carry out chain snatching incidents. According to the plan, to carry out the incidents, the three had first stolen 3 two-wheelers from different places in Raipur. After this, Sarvesh Dubey and Kailash Yadav used to come from Gobaranvapara to Raipur city by putting fake number plates in stolen two-wheelers and to hide their identity, they used to cover their faces with cloth and commit chain snatching incidents and abscond back to Gobaranvapara. Krishna Kumar Meshram used to get the money by mortgaging the chain in Muthoot Gold Loan Finance. Muthoot Gold Loan Finance is being questioned regarding mortgaging of gold chains without documents.

Accused Sarvesh Dubey has already been jailed in about 6 cases of robbery and theft from Pandari, Devendra Nagar, Tikrapara police station of Raipur and Habibganj and Govindpura police station of Bhopal. Accused Kailash Yadav has previously been imprisoned in Gobaranwapara police station under theft, assault and restrictive sections and accused Krishna Kumar Meshram is a history-sheeter of Gobaranwapara police station. About 1 dozen crimes have been registered against him in Gobaranvapara police station including rioting, theft, arson, sabotage, assault, obstructing government work, Arms Act, Udyapan and others, in which he has gone to jail.
