Chhattisgarh: Gariaband got a big achievement, 99 panchayats got the status of TB free panchayat from the Government of India

Gariaband. The villages of the district have received important honors due to the activeness of the district administration and the better work done in the health sector. The Government of India has given the status of TB free panchayat to 99 gram panchayats of the district. This achievement has been achieved as a result of the TB free Gariaband campaign run by the district administration last year. Under this campaign, more than two and a half lakh TB screenings were done by going door to door to defeat TB in the district. Along with this, the general public, public representatives and officers and employees also ensured participation to help TB patients in the form of more than 350 Nikshay Mitras. The district has achieved a great success with everyone’s successful cooperation and efforts. Collector Deepak Agarwal expressed happiness over this and congratulated the health department and the people of the district.

It is noteworthy that in the year 2023, the TB Free Panchayat Campaign was launched by the Government of India. Its objective was to eradicate TB from its roots, bring sensitivity towards TB patients and ensure everyone’s cooperation in defeating TB. Under this, various activities were conducted to defeat TB. Along with this, a massive public awareness campaign was also launched. In this sequence, TB free campaign was also run in Gariaband district. Under this, samples of TB suspected people were taken from door to door. Under this, more than two and a half lakh screenings were done. During this, samples of more than 344 TB suspected people were also taken, out of which very few TB patients were confirmed.

The district administration motivated public representatives, eminent citizens, social, business, rice millers organizations, officers-employees and others to become Nikshay Mitras to improve the health of TB patients. Under this, more than 350 people became Nikshay Mitras and helped TB patients recover from TB. Along with this, nutrition kits were also distributed to TB patients, which helped TB patients recover from TB disease.
