Chhattisgarh government now has a direct eye on school children, ‘Vidya Samiksha Kendra’ established in the capital

Raipur. Vidya Samiksha Kendra has been set up in the capital Raipur to monitor the performance of children studying in Chhattisgarh schools. Another big initiative has been taken in the state towards improving the quality of school education, in which along with the schools, the performance of every child studying in them will now be directly monitored. Development of software and mobile app and monitoring through call center is being done in collaboration with IIT Bhilai.

Vidya Samiksha Kendra has been established in Pension Bara, Raipur for online monitoring and data analysis of various beneficiary oriented schemes run under the School Education Department. Through this center, it will be easy to implement and monitor the government schemes in a better way. It will provide real time details of the performance of schools and each child studying in them.

With the establishment of Vidya Samiksha Kendra, information and facilities related to various beneficiary-oriented schemes of the government will be easily available to students, parents and teachers. The availability, repair, utility etc. of basic infrastructure in schools will be continuously monitored so that proper and adequate resources are available to the students for study and better education can be provided. Through this, information related to the posting of teachers is also being monitored.

Under Vidya Samiksha Kendra, regular online monitoring of teachers’ details, UDIS data, mid-day meal, monitoring related to teacher training, daily attendance of teachers and students, inspection of schools by officials, evaluation of students etc. and educational schemes related to the Central Government will be done. Software and apps are also being developed for monitoring the schemes. A call center has been set up for monitoring the schemes. A toll-free number will also be issued to solve the problems related to educational activities of students, parents and teachers.

Information is being obtained using AI based modules regarding whether basic facilities such as school building, toilets, electricity etc. are available or not in the school. With the help of the list of information obtained, schools are also being marked.

Information about the mid-day meal given to the children is being obtained with the use of AI. The quality of the materials served to the children under the mid-day meal will be analyzed through AI, so that information can be obtained whether the children are getting enough food or not. The facility of analyzing the data of teachers using AI (Artificial Intelligence) has also been prepared under the Vidya Samiksha Kendra. Subject-wise information of teachers, information of surplus teachers, information of single teachers can also be obtained. In future, academic assessment/evaluation of students will be analyzed using AI so that special focus can be given to weak students. AI based analysis will be done on the basis of facilities available in the school, information of teachers and data of academic activities of students. Schools will be ranked on the basis of the information received and various parameters.

It is worth noting that NCRT had organized a workshop regarding Vidya Samiksha Kendra in New Delhi on 12-13 August 2024, in which nodal officers of other states including Chhattisgarh participated. In the said workshop, a live presentation of the AI-module developed by Vidya Samiksha Kendra Chhattisgarh was made, which was appreciated by the Government of India, Ministry of Education.
