Raipur, March 23, 2025 / Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today visited the residence of senior writer Shri Vinod Kumar Shukla in Raipur and met with him. Chief Minister Shri Sai heartily congratulated Shri Shukla on the announcement of the Jnanpith Award. Chief Minister said to Shri Vinod Kumar Shukla that you have increased the prestige of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Shri Sai honored Shri Shukla on behalf of all the residents of the state and presented him with a shawl-shreefal and a Nandi, the symbol of Bastar Art.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said to Shri Vinod Kumar Shukla that the entire state is feeling proud that you are being awarded the country’s most prestigious Jnanpith Award for your distinguished contribution in the field of literature. It is my good fortune that I am getting an opportunity to meet you today in this moment of happiness.
The Chief Minister enquired about the well-being of Shri Vinod Kumar Shukla and inquired about his health. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that you are a resident of Rajnandgaon. Rajnandgaon is the cultural capital of Chhattisgarh. There, writers like Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh, Dr. Padumlal Punnalal Bakshi and Baldev Prasad Mishra have practiced their literary pursuits.
When the Chief Minister mentioned Rajnandgaon, Shri Shukla shared memories of his childhood Nandgaon with him. Shri Shukla said that I was born in Rajnandgaon. That Nandgaon of my childhood still lingers in my mind. Even today when I go there, I try to find that Nandgaon. But now a lot has changed with time.
The Chief Minister also met the family members of Shri Vinod Kumar Shukla and inquired about their well-being. On this occasion, Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Shri Pankaj Jha, Chief Minister’s Press Officer Shri Alok Singh, Chief Minister’s Secretary Shri P Dayanand, Public Relations Commissioner Shri Ravi Mittal, Raipur Press Club President Shri Prafull Thakur and family members of Shri Vinod Kumar Shukla along with other dignitaries were present.
