The contract for cleaning in Bilaspur Municipal Corporation area is with Delhi’s Lions Service Company, whose 800 sweepers are responsible for the cleanliness of the capital. These sweepers say that their salary for two months is pending, due to which they are facing difficulty in running their families.
Safai Karamcharis said that they get a salary of just 8 thousand rupees, so they are raising their voice for increasing their salary. Due to the strike of Safai Karamcharis, the roads have not been swept, while the drains in the wards have not been cleaned. Safai Karamcharis have warned that till their demands are not met, the cleaning system will remain stalled.
