Now here farmers have been defrauded to the tune of lakhs of rupees. The whole matter is that Jadamuda procurement center in-charge Umesh Bhoi, computer operator Manish Pradhan, Manoj Pradhan in collusion and withdrew the amount by selling the paddy of 19 farmers in the accounts of other farmers. After the matter came to light, the operators including the center in-charge have absconded. At the same time, on the complaint of farmers, the police has registered a case under sections 420, 409, 34 against the paddy procurement center in-charge and two computer operators at Basna police station and has started searching for the accused.
The hard-earned money of farmers bought paddy fraudulently. The center in-charge and computer operator withdrew Rs 32 lakh 90 thousand by selling paddy in the accounts of fake farmers. The matter came to light when farmers created a ruckus at the paddy collection center after not receiving the money for the paddy they sold. When the officers reached the spot and investigated, it was found that the paddy of these 19 farmers had been sold by depositing it in the accounts of others and the amount had been withdrawn.
In this case, Basna police station in-charge Ashish Wasnik said that a case has been registered against the three accused on the complaint of farmers. All three are absconding since the case was registered, their search is on. A case has been registered against the center in-charge under various sections in Basna police station in connection with fraud in paddy procurement.
Let us tell you that earlier in this same procurement centre, a fraud of about Rs 2 crore was done by purchasing paddy by increasing the fake area. Following the complaint, an FIR was lodged in Basna police station against Jadamuda Cooperative Society committee manager Umesh Bhoi and a farmer Ram Prasad on charges of fraud of Rs 2 crore.
