Raigad. After getting acquainted on social media, the police arrested the accused who raped the girl and sent them to jail. The 28 -year -old victim reached the police station Pusaur today and lodged a written complaint that in 2024 she was identified through Facebook through Meenketan Pav (27 years), resident police station Jutmil area. Gradually, the phone conversation between the two increased and Meenketan gave the girl to marriage. According to the victim, her village procession came on 6 April, including Meenketan. During the procession, Meenketan approached the girl on the phone and asked the house address and came straight to her house.
During this time, while talking to the young woman, forcibly made a physical relationship with her and then refused to marry. Feeling herself cheated, the woman reached the police station Pusaur with her family and lodged a complaint against the accused.
Taking the case seriously, the police station in -charge Inspector Ramkinkar Yadav registered a case under the immediate accused under the crime number 85/2025 Section 69 BNS (in line with the Indian Justice Code) and took the team and took the accused Meenketan Pav into custody. After completing all the legal process including medical examination, the police presented the accused within 24 hours to the court, from where he was sent to jail.
The action was taken under the leadership of SP Divyang Kumar Patel and City Superintendent of Police Akash Shukla, showing sensitivity to women crimes. In this action, the police station in -charge Ramkinkar Yadav along with Sub Inspector Sandhya Koka, Uni Kundan Lal Gaur, Assistant Sub Inspector Manmohan Bairagi and women head constable Jenipa Panna and staff played a special role. The police has clarified that the policy of quick and strict action against crimes related to women and children will continue further.
