Shashikant Dixena, Korba. Police has revealed the death of a woman due to arson in Dumarmuda of Etmanagar in Bango police station area of the district. The murderer of the woman turned out to be none other than her husband. The accused husband has been arrested by the police and sent to jail. It is being told that there was a dispute going on between the husband and wife for some days, both were addicted to drinking alcohol. The husband repeatedly tried to persuade his wife not to drink alcohol, but when the wife refused to agree, the husband in a fit of rage strangled the wife to death and burnt her in the stove.
Recently, a woman had died due to arson in Etmanagar Panchayat Dumarmuda. The name of the deceased was Brijbai who was working as an Anganwadi assistant in Etmanagar. The woman’s children had gone out of the house to work, she lived at home with her husband Krishna Tekam. Both husband and wife were addicted to alcohol. Because of this there used to be daily disputes between the two.
Husband Krishna Tekam always forbade his wife to drink alcohol so that her respect in the village and society remains intact. But the wife, out of habit, did not listen to her husband and remained under the influence of alcohol every day. Hurt by this, the husband’s anger increased and in the morning the dispute escalated to such an extent that the accused husband first strangled his wife to death. After that, he put his wife’s head in the kitchen stove and burnt her with her clothes. The Sarpanch and the villagers informed the police about this incident. In this case, a joint team of Bango police and Katghora police reached the incident site and investigated. Neighbors along with husband Krishna Tekam were also strictly interrogated in the matter. During this time, the deceased’s husband Krishna Tekam made the excuse that he had gone to the forest when his wife died.
But as the police proceeded with the investigation, the mystery was solved overnight. After strict action by the police, the accused husband Krishna Tekam confessed to his crime. In the murder case, the police have registered the crime under section 302, 201 and sent the accused husband to jail.
