Durg. Home Minister Vijay Sharma has arrived to meet the accused of the Kawardha case lodged in Central Jail Durg. About 30 women accused are lodged in Durg Jail. Durg MLA Gajendra Yadav, Ahiwara MLA Doman Lal Korsevada, Jail DG Himanshu Gupta, Durg Collector Richa Prakash Chaudhary, IG Ramgopal Garg, SP Jitendra Shukla are also present with the Home Minister. Let us tell you that Women Commission Chairperson Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak is also going to meet the women lodged in Durg Jail today.
The Women’s Commission has also taken suo motu cognizance of the mistreatment of the accused in the Loharidih violence case lodged in Durg jail. The State Women’s Commission has issued a letter to the Director General of Police and said that the Chairperson of the Women’s Commission, Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak, will visit the jail on Saturday and meet the women of Kawardha in the case of mistreatment of the accused lodged in the jail.
Know the entire incident of Loharidih
Let us tell you that within a week, 3 people died in Loharidih of the district due to different reasons. On the intervening night of 14 September, the body of Shiv Prasad Sahu was found hanging from a tree in the area of Birsa police station in Madhya Pradesh. After finding the body, the villagers set fire to Raghunath Sahu’s house on suspicion of murder, due to which Raghunath Sahu died of burns. In this case, the police have arrested 69 villagers including 33 women on suspicion of murder. Meanwhile, Prashant Sahu, who was imprisoned on murder charges, died in jail on 19 September. Deep injury marks have been found on the body of the deceased, due to which the villagers allege that Prashant Sahu died in jail due to police beating. After this, the government took a big action and suspended IPS Vikas Kumar posted as Additional Superintendent of Police in Kabirdham district. At the same time, a total of 23 policemen posted there, including the Inspector, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Rengakhar police station, were also removed. Kabirdham SP and Collector were also removed late tonight.
