Mahabhishek of 120 feet high Shivling in Chhattisgarh: 6 thousand liters of milk and 1.25 lakh liters of water were offered by crane, thousands of devotees gathered for darshan, watch VIDEO

Lalit Singh Thakur, Rajnandgaon. In the holy month of Saavan, a unique religious event was witnessed on the land of Rajnandgaon. Here in the courtyard of Maa Patal Bhairavi, a grand Mahabhishek of Asia’s tallest 120 feet Shivling was organized by Barfani Sevashram Samiti and Rashtriya Utsav Samiti. A 500 feet high crane was called for the anointment of this huge Shivling, with the help of which a huge Kalash made specially was taken to the top of the temple through the crane and anointed. Thousands of devotees were present in the temple premises to see this sight.

In this Mahabhishek which started at 8 pm, a huge Kalash was taken to the top of the temple through a crane and abhishek was done. On this occasion, Shivling was anointed with more than one lakh liters of water and 6 thousand liters of milk. Apart from this, flowers were also showered on Shivling with oleander, dhatura and other types of flowers. In the end, the shape of Shiva was created on the Shivling through laser lighting, and a laser show was done. DJ sound system was also arranged by the organizer, during which Shiva devotees were seen dancing to devotional songs of Shiva. Devotees participated in this event with devotion and enthusiasm.

During the Mahabhishek, chants were done by 11 pandits of Barfani Ashram, and as the kalash filled with water and milk was offered from the crane, devotees broke out chanting “Bol Bam” and “Har Har Mahadev”. Children, elderly, women and men witnessed the event till late night.

This temple of Patal Bhairavi is famous all over the country

It is worth mentioning that this temple of Maa Patal Bhairavi located in Rajnandgaon is famous all over the country. The height of this temple is about 120 feet. Which is built in the shape of a huge Shivalinga. The circumference of the temple is about 116 feet. This temple is built in 3 sections (floors). On the topmost floor, one can see the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. On the middle floor, Maa Rajrajeshwari is seated in 9 grand forms. At the bottom, one can see Maa Kali in the form of 13 feet high Patal Bhairavi. Maa Patal Bhairavi temple is built 15 feet below the ground.
