Raipur. In Chhattisgarh, the present government can conduct municipal and panchayat elections simultaneously. To conduct both the elections simultaneously, a five-member committee was formed under the chairmanship of IAS Richa Sharma. The committee has submitted its recommendation to the state government. Now the government will take the final decision.
It is being told that the committee headed by Richa Sharma has recommended holding Panchayat and civic elections simultaneously. The committee has said that this will not only save money but will also speed up development work. By holding both the elections separately, the code of conduct will also have to be imposed twice. Development work will be affected by this. Man power also seems to be more. All this will be saved by holding both the elections together.
