Raipur. Minister of State for AYUSH and Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav is coming to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS Raipur) on August 4. During this, he will inaugurate the second advanced Cathlab of AIIMS. With the start of this lab, medical students of DM Cardiology along with patients will get convenience in training. Apart from this, the minister will also visit the trauma and emergency department. AIIMS Executive Director Lieutenant General Ashok Jindal (Retired) said that all preparations have been completed in view of the visit of the Minister of State.
He will arrive here at 3 pm. Apart from the facilities for patients in the hospital, he will also discuss facilities for medical students etc. Mr. Jindal said that in the cardiology department of AIIMS, till now, patients were getting the facility of angiography and angioplasty etc. in only one cathlab. Leaving aside the emergency, about 25 to 30 angios are done here every week. Now with the availability of the new advanced cathlab, its number will increase. Preparations for this cathlab were going on for the last two years. Head of the cardiology department Prof. Dr. Satyajit Singh said that good work has been done on radiation exposure in this lab. Due to this, the risk of radiation on patients as well as doctors will be relatively less.

Apart from modern coronary 3D OCT, the cardiac cathlab will also have facilities of IFR, FFR as well as 3D tactical recreation software. The earlier cathlabs in AIIMS are also modern. Presently, facilities have been provided in the second lab to face the new challenges arising in heart disease.
