Dantewada. Influenced by the Lon Varatu (Come Back Home) campaign, 3 Maoists including 1 rewarder have laid down their arms before the police. The surrendered Maoists were active in Pittepal Panchayat of Bhairamgarh Area Committee and Rewali Panchayat of Malanger Area Committee. The government had announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for the post of dedicated Maoist Pittepal Panchayat DAKMS President. Let us tell you that RFT CRPF Dantewada and 231st Corps CRPF had a special contribution in getting the surrender of Phulgatta Panchayat CNM member Ramesh Bhogam and Rewali Panchayat Jantana Sarkar member Bhima Kuhdam alias Avinash Korram under Malanger Area Committee.
Superintendent of Police Dantewada said that the surrendered Maoist will be provided incentive amount of Rs 25-25 thousand under the Chhattisgarh Government Rehabilitation Scheme and all types of benefits available under the rehabilitation scheme. Under the Lon Varatu campaign, till now a total of 685 Maoists including 174 rewarded Maoists have surrendered and joined the mainstream of the society.
