Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai flags off 18 new fire fighting vehicles
Inaugurated the Fire Station cum Residential Complex in Nava Raipur
State-of-the-art fire fighting vehicles will speed up relief operations
Raipur, April 17, 2025/The Chhattisgarh government is constantly making committed efforts to further strengthen the citizen security system of the state. Concrete steps are being taken in the direction of modernizing resources, technically upgrading fire fighting services, and prioritizing the training and morale of the personnel. In this series, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today flagged off 18 new fire fighting vehicles at a program held at the Nagar Sena Central Training Institute complex in Mana Camp, the capital city of Raipur. On this occasion, he also inaugurated the newly constructed Fire Station cum Residential Complex in Sector-13, Nava Raipur, and the new Commandant Office in Mana. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma along with many public representatives and senior administrative officers were present in the program.
A big step towards strengthening emergency services
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that these state-of-the-art fire fighting vehicles will give new impetus to the state’s rapid emergency services capabilities. He termed it an important initiative towards ensuring the safety of citizens. The Chief Minister said that the fire fighting system will be strengthened through the inaugurated buildings and the efficiency of our personnel will also increase. He also clarified that these new vehicles will be able to control fire incidents more effectively and quickly than before, which will ensure the protection of life and property. He said that saving lives is the biggest task and the fire fighting personnel who perform it with full devotion and promptness are our true heroes, whose services are always viewed with respect by the society.
Emergency service demo and exhibition of state-of-the-art equipment
During the program, an emergency service demonstration based on a fire incident was also performed by the State Disaster Response Force and the Fire Fighting Relief Team. Chief Minister Shri Sai observed the entire rescue operation with deep interest and seriousness and highly appreciated the promptness and alertness of the personnel. Along with this, he also observed the exhibition of state-of-the-art equipment used in fire fighting services. The departmental officers informed him about the functioning and utility of equipment such as Lucas Jack, Glass Breaker, Air Lifting Bag, Pelican Tower Light, Diamond Tip, Chain Saw, Fire Gel Blanket, Fire Suit, and Under Water Camera.
Fire fighting services are being continuously strengthened
Deputy Inspector General of Police Shri Ajat Shatru Bahadur Singh said that the fire fighting service was transferred from the urban body in the year 2017. At present, an average of 8,000 fire calls are received every year, while this number reaches 40 per day in summer. He said that with the inclusion of the 18 new fire fighting vehicles today, the department now has a total of 161 fire fighting vehicles. These vehicles have been handed over to districts like Raigarh, Korba, Kabirdham, Dantewada, Dhamtari, Korea, and Ambikapur today itself. He also informed that a Fire Station cum Residential Complex has been constructed by NRDA in Nava Raipur for fire fighting and emergency services at a cost of Rs 5.5 crore, which has been inaugurated today.
Fire Fighting Safety Week dedicated to martyred fire fighting personnel
Shri Ajat Shatru Bahadur Singh said that Shaheed Diwas is celebrated every year on April 14 in memory of the brave employees who made the supreme sacrifice while performing their duty in fire fighting services, and Fire Fighting Safety Week is organized across the country from April 14 to 20. In this sequence, Fire Fighting Safety Week is also being organized in Chhattisgarh this year.
MLA Shri Motilal Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary Home Shri Manoj Kumar Pingua, Director General of Police Shri Arun Dev Gautam and Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat along with other officers and public representatives were present in the program.
