The paddy procurement process, initiated by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, continues.
To date, 90.07 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been procured.
Online and offline tokens are available until January 25th for registered farmers to sell their paddy. Farmers can choose a date convenient to them to sell their produce.
Delivery orders (DOs) and transport orders (TOs) have been issued for the lifting of 61 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. 34.61 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have already been lifted.
The paddy procurement drive, which began on November 14th in the state, is ongoing. Approximately 90.07 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been procured so far. 18.12 lakh farmers have received payments totaling over 200 billion rupees (20,035 crore) through the bank linking system. This paddy procurement campaign will continue until January 31st, 2025.
All registered farmers in the state have been provided with tokens for paddy sales during the Kharif marketing year 2024-25. Tokens are available through the online app (“Token Tuhar Haath”) and at procurement centers until January 25th, 2025. Farmers can choose their preferred date and sell their paddy according to the rules.
Along with paddy procurement, millers are also rapidly lifting the paddy. DOs and TOs have been issued for approximately 61 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, and 34.61 lakh metric tonnes have been lifted so far.
Food Department officials stated that 27.78 lakh farmers registered for this Kharif year, including 1.59 lakh new farmers. This year, the estimated paddy procurement is 160 lakh metric tonnes through 2739 procurement centers.
Food Department officials reported that on January 1st, 2025, 2.66 lakh metric tonnes of paddy were procured from 57,893 farmers. Over 74,760 tokens were issued for this, and 81,927 tokens have been issued for the coming days.
