Police force and CRPF conducted operation in Naxal-affected area, large amount of Naxal material including 38 lakh cash recovered

Raipur/Dhamtari. Gariaband and Dhamtari police force has achieved a big success. Gariaband-Dhamtari police force and CRPF conducted a comprehensive operation in the remote areas affected by Maoism. During this, many dumps planted by the Maoists of Dhamtari-Gariaband-Nuapada division of Odisha State Committee have been recovered. 38 lakh rupees in cash and Naxal material have been seized.

Under the guidance of senior officers, a continuous anti-naxal operation is being carried out in the interior areas of Raipur Range. Information was received that as per the instructions of the top leadership of the banned organization CPI Maoist, local Maoist units have illegally collected levy from traders and others. This money along with other Maoist materials have been hidden in different areas of Gariaband and Dhamtari.

On receiving information, Gariaband-Dhamtari police force and CRPF were sent on a special search operation on 10th August and this operation was completed on 12th August. During the search, this force dug a pit several feet deep in the ground in the forest areas of Chhote Gobra and Pendra on the border of Dhamtari-Gariaband and recovered Maoist material from the dump which was hidden with soil and bushes. In this, 06 bundles of 2000 notes, 52 bundles of 500 notes with 100 notes in each bundle, totaling 38 lakh rupees were recovered from various places inside a steel box.

Apart from this, 23 BGL rounds, two tiffin IEDs, IED making material 13 detonators, 1 bundle of fuse wire, 2 kg loose gunpowder, urea, 2 flash lights, 3 multimeters, sensor remote, electric wire, Maoist uniform, black cloth and other material were recovered. In this regard, a case has been registered at Mainpur police station under section 308 BNS, section 17, 20, 21, 40 of the IPC and at Mechka police station under section 109, 191 (2), 191 (3), 190 BNS, 25, 27 Arms Act, 4, 5 IPC and 10 IPC, 13 (a), 16 (a) 38 (2), 39 (2) and further legal action is being taken.
