Agricultural scientists of Indira Gandhi University Raipur have discovered a type of rice, which when consumed will prove to be very helpful in increasing the immunity of the human body as well as in preventing diseases like cancer. We are talking about Sanjeevani rice. This Sanjeevani rice is flourishing in the fields of village Kaundkera near Mahasamund headquarters. Agricultural scientist Dr. Deepak Sharma said that Indira Gandhi Agricultural University has discovered a new type of rice, which is known as Sanjeevani rice. This type of rice has the property of increasing immunity. Consumption of rice of this rice increases the ability to fight various diseases. This is a fragrant type of rice, which has phytochemicals, antioxidants, anti-cancer properties. This will not only make the farmers healthy but will also strengthen the financial condition of the farmers.

15 to 20 quintals of production is expected in one acre

This Sanjeevani paddy is flourishing in the fields of village Kaundkera near Mahasamund headquarters. On an experimental basis, the progressive farmer of the region, Yogeshwar Chandrakar, has planted it in just one acre. He is producing it in a natural way. Farmer Yogeshwar said that this is its first experiment in the district. Today its length is about 3 feet. He is producing it using manure made from cow dung and leaves. About 14 kg of seeds have been used in one acre and the expenditure has come to about 15 to 20 thousand rupees. It is expected to produce 15 to 20 quintals. By using it for only ten days, an increase in disease resistance has been observed.

The farmer has cultivated paddy in several installments

It is worth mentioning that farmer Yogeshwar has already produced black rice, red rice, green rice, black radish, blue potato etc. Yogeshwar also believes that cultivating this type of paddy will increase the income of farmers considerably.
