Vinayak Plaza located in Sakri of Takhatpur block is adjacent to Gokhane Nala located in Uslapur. Here the builder, flaunting his high reach, has taken the land in his possession by filling up the drain. Due to this, the drain overflows during the rains, causing problems to the people. The team has also found illegal occupation of about 22 decimals of land by the builder on the government land of the drain. Still no action has been taken against the builder.
The history of Gokhale Nala is quite old and this is the reason that the banks of Gokhale Nala have receded a lot due to the builder occupying this land. Due to this, the rain water overflows the drain. Last year also many incidents of drowning were seen due to waterlogging, but even after such a long action and investigation, who knows who is giving protection to such builders and getting them to occupy the government land of the drain. This is boosting their morale.
Investigation revealed illegal occupation of 22 decimals of land
It should be noted that the Supreme Court had clearly stated that rivers, drains, ponds and wells will not be filled up, but these orders are being openly flouted here. NGT has also issued several letters pointing out this, but as usual, NGT’s letters have landed in the dustbin. Recently, Takhatpur’s SDM Dr. Jyoti Patel took the matter seriously and constituted a joint team of Naib Tehsildar, RI, Patwari and got the spot investigated. In the investigation, this team found that the builder has occupied about 22 decimals of government land of the drain.
Sewer water is entering homes, possibility of loss of life too
There have been several complaints on this matter. Similarly, a recent complaint has been made by a person from Sakri. He has stated in his complaint that Vinayak Plaza has been constructed by illegally occupying Gorkha drain and without getting map approval from Town and Country Planning and Municipal Corporation. The drainage of drain water has been blocked by filling it up. Due to excessive waterlogging in the drain, water is entering people’s houses. Due to this, the general public is facing huge problems. There is also a possibility of loss of life. Action should be taken against the builder.
Last year a child drowned in the drain, another accident awaits
Let us tell you that last year a child drowned in the Gokhane Nallah of Uslapur. There have been so many accidents on this overflowing drain, yet the spirits of the encroachers are high. Even after the complaint is found to be true in the investigation, the officials are sweating to take action against the influential builders.
A reply has been sought by issuing a notice: SDM
In this case, SDM Jyoti Patel said that another new complaint has been received in this case. The concerned builder Vinayak Plaza has been issued a notice and called for a reply. All the facts are being investigated. Further action will be taken on the basis of the report. An attempt was made to know the side of Sakri Tehsildar Ashwani Kavar in this matter, but he neither received the call nor gave any information on WhatsApp message.
