CREDA’s innovative initiative will increase the income of battery-operated e-rickshaw drivers
Work is underway to enhance basic amenities with solar energy
CREDA CEO Shri Rajesh Singh Rana stated that the solar-powered battery swapping station has been developed by CREDA as a pilot project for battery-operated electric rickshaws. With the help of battery swapping, e-rickshaw drivers can replace discharged batteries with charged batteries at a lower cost in a shorter time. This will enable e-rickshaw drivers to cover more distance daily, and their income will also increase. Similarly, the solar panel-based e-rickshaw has been developed by CREDA as an energy-efficient e-rickshaw compared to an ordinary e-rickshaw. This relieves the rickshaw driver from the problem of charging the battery repeatedly. Generally, rickshaw drivers are unable to cover more distance due to daily battery charging problems. CREDA has largely solved this problem by installing solar panels in e-rickshaws. Shri Rana said that CREDA is making many efforts to provide basic amenities through solar energy in rural and urban areas, which include the establishment of solar plants in ashrams-hostels, health centers, energy education gardens, operation of community street lights from solar plants for street lighting, installation of solar high mast lights, and the establishment of community biogas plants.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, MLA Shri Motilal Sahu, MLA Shri Anuj Sharma, MLA Shri Sampat Agarwal, MLA Shri Sunil Soni, newly appointed Chairman of CREDA Shri Bhupendra Savanni, newly appointed Chairmen of Corporations, Secretary of Energy Department Dr. Rohit Yadav, and a large number of common people were present.
