Bisahu Singh (28 years) of Salhewara village of Chilfi police station area committed suicide by consuming poison. As soon as the incident came to light, his wife Baisakhin Bai (26 years) also decided to end her life and hanged herself in the house by making a noose of rope. Although the neighbors tried to save her, they could not succeed. Bisahu, who had consumed poison, was immediately taken to the hospital, where he died during treatment. The couple also has a five-year-old son.

This incident has created panic in the area. The police who reached the spot for investigation did not find any suicide note. Chilfi police station has handed over the bodies of both to their families after post-mortem.
