Laxmikant Bansod, Balod. Environmentalists have taken a unique initiative to spread greenery in the district. A 6 km long Neem corridor is being built by collecting donations from the common people without any government expense. 500 Neem plants have been planted on both sides of the 6 km long road in three villages.
Under the leadership of environment lover Bhoj Sahu, with the help of hundreds of people, 500 neem plants have been planted on a 6 km long road from village Deori (D) to Fursuni, Mohndipath in Balod district. To protect each plant, dholki (net rings) are being put on them. It costs Rs 350 to make one net dholki, which has been prepared by collecting donations from hundreds of people.
In this campaign, environment lovers have voluntarily joined this campaign by contributing financially from Rs 350 per dholki to 5 to 10 dholkis. Area MLA Kunwar Singh Nishad, who attended the Neem Corridor tree plantation program, praised the work of the youth and appealed to everyone to plant trees.
The teacher planted a tree in the name of his mother
Teacher Tajendra Temburkar, who supported this campaign, said that he has planted a tree in the name of his late mother Janaki Temburkar. Thanks to all the people involved in this campaign, who are taking such an initiative and planting 500 neem trees. Later, when the neem trees grow big, its cool shade will give solace to everyone.
