Jashpur. Once again negligence of 108 Sanjeevani vehicles has come to light in the district hospital. Expressing deep anger on this, Jashpur MLA Raimuni Bhagat strongly reprimanded the doctors including the hospital management. However, after the MLA’s rebuke, both the injured and their relatives were immediately sent to Ranchi.
In fact, an unknown pickup hit the scooter of students returning home after attending the annual function organized at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School and ran away. Three students riding on the scooter were injured in the accident. The condition of two of the injured is said to be serious. He was referred for better treatment after first aid. MLA Raimuni Bhagat, who reached the hospital on receiving information about the accident, got furious over the delay in taking the referred students to the higher centre. The incident took place near Minj Tent House located on Bhagalpur Road in the city at around 6.30 pm.
MLA reprimanded
The MLA reached the district hospital and inquired about the condition and treatment of the injured. The relatives of the injured said that even after 2 hours of being referred, the ambulance could not leave for Ranchi. Expressing displeasure over this, the MLA strongly reprimanded the doctors treating the injured. He also expressed his displeasure over the poor system of Sanjeevani ambulance service and said that every moment is precious to save the lives of the injured. In such a situation, keeping the injured detained for two hours is serious negligence.
It is being told that the patient could not be referred due to lack of diesel in the ambulance. On this, the MLA has said that he will complain about the matter to the higher officials of the medical department.
