News has emerged that Aamir Khan’s ambitious superhero film, a collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, has been cancelled even before production began. This decision has disappointed fans who were anticipating a fresh take on the superhero genre. The project was initially hinted at by Kanagaraj himself. The cancellation is reportedly linked to the performance of Kanagaraj’s recent film, ‘Kuli,’ starring Rajinikanth, which did not meet expectations despite earning over ₹500 crore worldwide. The film’s underwhelming performance is cited as a key factor in the shelving of Khan’s superhero venture. Kanagaraj had initially planned the superhero film with Suriya before approaching Aamir Khan. The production status of Khan’s other projects, such as ‘Lahore 1947,’ and the highly anticipated ‘Mahabharat’ adaptation, remains unclear amidst this development.
