Police in Pune have detained Ashish Kapoor, a television actor, following a woman’s allegation of rape during a house party. The alleged incident happened in August, and the police confirmed that the two had met via Instagram. Kapoor, who hails from Delhi and was born in 1984, initially worked as an interior designer before venturing into acting. He has been a part of several popular television shows, including ‘Chand Chupa Badal Mein’, ‘Saraswatichandra’, and ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’. He gained recognition for his role as Udayveer Singh in ‘Dekha Ek Khwaab’. The complainant initially claimed multiple attackers but later identified Kapoor. The alleged assault is said to have taken place in a washroom at the party. The woman also stated the incident was recorded, but no such evidence has been found. The police are still investigating the case, and no formal charges have been laid against other individuals mentioned in the FIR. The woman also alleged a physical attack by her friend’s wife.
