Speculation surrounds the casting of a prominent South Indian film, originally intended to star Alia Bhatt. Following reports that Deepika Padukone’s professional decisions have raised concerns among South Indian directors, another casting shift has occurred. Alia Bhatt has reportedly withdrawn from a major project, potentially opening the door for Sai Pallavi to take on the role. The film, which was in talks with Alia Bhatt for a female-centric role, is now looking at Sai Pallavi. The change comes as Nag Ashwin, the director, may be shifting his focus after Deepika Padukone’s departure from ‘Kalki 2′. Alia Bhatt has committed to Maddock Films’ ‘Chamunda’, thus making her unavailable. Sai Pallavi, the original choice for the project, is expected to be available after she completes filming for ‘Ramayana’, which is scheduled to wrap up by mid-2026. If schedules permit, she may join Nag Ashwin’s film before his focus shifts to ‘Kalki 2’.
