Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film ‘Nishaanchi’ is set to premiere in cinemas. The film’s teaser has been met with positive reactions from audiences. Kashyap has now disclosed new details about the project, sharing that he originally envisioned the film with Sushant Singh Rajput. However, this plan didn’t materialize. While many actors were drawn to the script, the film’s release is now slated for nine years after its initial announcement. Kashyap shared insights into the circumstances.
Kashyap stated that ‘Nishaanchi’ was a film he initially aimed to create with Sushant Singh Rajput. However, Rajput then became involved in major projects like ‘Dil Bechara’ and ‘Drive’ under Dharma Productions, which altered priorities. ‘My film was no longer a priority,’ Kashyap explained. ‘I also withdrew, and Sushant stopped responding. After that, I moved on. I announced this film with him in 2016.’
The director-actor also mentioned that numerous actors read the ‘Nishaanchi’ script and were enthusiastic about it. Despite the interest, no collaborations came to fruition.
The release date for ‘Nishaanchi’ is set for September 19, 2025. The film’s narrative focuses on twin brothers with contrasting personalities, exploring themes of love, brotherhood, and revenge. It delves into the diverse aspects of human nature and its effects. The cast includes Vineet Kumar Singh, Kumud Mishra, and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, among others.
