Week 35 of television ratings saw a significant shakeup in the industry. BARC India’s latest figures reveal a downturn in the TRP ratings of most television serials. A notable trend is the absence of reality shows in the top 10. However, this doesn’t necessarily indicate a decline in their popularity. ‘Bigg Boss’ remains a dominant force among reality shows. Although it didn’t break into the overall top 10, ‘Bigg Boss’ leads the reality show rankings. The show achieved a rating of 1.2, maintaining its lead despite being available on Jio Hotstar before its television broadcast, which occurs one and a half hours later. ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga’ from Colors TV also performed well, garnering a 1.2 rating and competing closely with ‘Bigg Boss’. ‘Super Dancer’ secured the third position with 0.9. ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC), hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, experienced a drop in its ratings, landing in fourth place with a rating of 0.7. ‘Chhoriyan Chali Gaon’ from Zee TV followed in fifth with a rating of 0.6. The altered ratings this week can be attributed to the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. While dramas and daily soaps have dominated the TRP, reality shows, specifically ‘Bigg Boss’ and ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga,’ have demonstrated strong viewership.
