Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, an Indian pilot aboard the Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4), chose the Bollywood song ‘Yuh Hi Chala Chal’ from the movie ‘Swades’ for his launch-day playlist. The song, featuring Shah Rukh Khan, symbolizes the importance of perseverance and moving forward in life. Composed by AR Rahman with lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar and sung by Udit Narayan, Kailash Kher and Hariharan, the song’s selection highlights Shukla’s personal connection to the music. Axiom Mission 4, a commercial mission to the International Space Station (ISS), launched from the Kennedy Space Center. The crew includes former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson, and mission specialists Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski and Tibor Kapu, and will conduct a wide array of scientific experiments and outreach activities. The astronauts will utilize the new AxEMU spacesuits. The mission involves collaboration between NASA and ISRO, encompassing approximately 60 scientific experiments across 31 countries.
