Bombay Velvet: The Anushka Sharma Film That Tanked at the Box Office

The film in question was released ten years ago and is titled ‘Bombay Velvet.’ Anushka Sharma starred in the lead role, alongside superstar Ranbir Kapoor. Renowned filmmaker Karan Johar also acted in ‘Bombay Velvet.’ The cast also included KK Menon, Satyadeep Mishra, and Manish Chaudhary. The film was directed by Anurag Kashyap, who also produced it with Vikas Bahl. Anushka Sharma played a character named Rosie, while Ranbir Kapoor portrayed Johnny Balraj. The film was made on a massive budget of 118 crore rupees. Unfortunately, ‘Bombay Velvet’ suffered a terrible fate at the box office, with many fans even unaware that Anushka and Ranbir had worked together on such a film. The opening day saw the film surrender at the box office, with an opening of only five crore rupees. The film’s earnings remained steady on the second and third days. In total, it earned 23.71 crore rupees in India. Consequently, the makers incurred a loss of more than 94 crore rupees.
