The CBFC’s censorship practices have once again come under scrutiny. In the latest Hindi film ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,’ the board has significantly reduced a kissing scene featuring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. This decision, which involves a 75% reduction of the scene, has drawn criticism from industry veterans. Mahesh Bhatt, a well-known filmmaker, commented on the issue, highlighting how little has changed over time. He expressed that kissing is a normal representation of love. Aamir Khan also shared his thoughts on the censorship, pointing out that he had faced criticism in the past for a similar scene, but views intimate moments as a healthy portrayal of affection. The incident also recalls past instances, such as the censoring of kissing scenes in films like ‘Spectre’ and ‘Tamasha’.
