Samay Raina, the popular YouTuber, is involved in another controversy stemming from his content. The court has instructed Samay Raina to apologize after a case was filed against him and other influencers for making fun of disabled people. The Supreme Court’s decision demands that Raina offer an unconditional apology on his YouTube channels and other platforms. Alongside Raina, Vipul Goyal, Balraj Paramjeet Singh Ghai, Nishant Jagdish Tanwar, and Sonali Thakkar aka Sonali Aditya Desai are also included in the apology order. The court has also directed the Indian government to create guidelines on social media to moderate jokes about disabled individuals, upholding appropriate standards. Justice Surya Kant highlighted the importance of balance between rights and duties, questioning the need for such jokes. Justice Surya Kant expressed his concerns about the implications of such behavior. He had previously criticized the comedians for their insensitive comments, claiming that they misused the fundamental right to free speech. The complaint was initially filed by Cure SMA, an organization dedicated to supporting people with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, concerning videos featuring Raina and other influencers.
