In a video blog, she revealed the initial shock of her diagnosis, the pain of being separated from her infant son Ruhaan, and the constant support she received from her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim. Kakar acknowledged the support she received from fans through prayers and religious practices. She described the discovery of a liver tumor and the subsequent confirmation of its malignancy, which necessitated immediate surgery. Before the surgery, she faced the difficult task of weaning Ruhaan overnight to prepare for her treatment.
