Prabhas’s upcoming movie, touted as a major release, might be delayed once again. The film, budgeted at ₹400 crore, was originally slated for an earlier debut but was rescheduled for December. Fresh concerns have emerged regarding a possible shift to the following year. The co-producers are now grappling with these challenges. According to a report in The Economic Times, Delhi-based Ivy Entertainment has filed a petition against the co-producer, People Media Factory Private Limited, citing significant violations. Ivy Entertainment accuses the producers of failing to meet several obligations, including adhering to deadlines for film completion and release, providing monthly production updates, and transparently accounting for fund utilization. The company has also raised concerns about the unscheduled postponement of the release. Ivy Entertainment is demanding the reimbursement of ₹218 crore, plus 18% annual interest. The agreements for film rights acquisition were signed on January 25, 2023, and for theatrical rights acquisition on March 10, 2023. The petition also names key figures from People Media Factory and post-production houses. The situation raises questions about the film’s eventual release and the potential impact of the ongoing dispute on the final product’s quality.
