‘Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra,’ a superhero film originating from Malayalam cinema, is witnessing remarkable success at the box office. The film tells the story of a young woman who develops supernatural skills and must use them to combat evil. Within four days, the film collected Rs 24.3 crore net (Rs 28.4 crore gross) in the domestic market. Sunday’s collection alone was an impressive Rs 10 crore, a 30% increase from Saturday and a substantial 280% increase from the opening day. Internationally, the film has earned over $4 million (around Rs 35 crore), pushing its global earnings beyond Rs 63 crore in just four days. With its current trajectory, the film is anticipated to cross the Rs 100 crore threshold soon. The film is a fusion of Indian folklore, modern science fiction, and horror, marking the commencement of the Wayfarer Cinematic Universe (WCU). The cast includes Kalyani Priyadarshan, Naslen, Sandy, and others.
