Prabhas’s film ‘The Raja Saab,’ directed by Maruthi and featuring Sanjay Dutt, is reportedly eyeing a January 9, 2026 release during the Pongal festival. This puts the film in direct competition with other major South Indian releases. Chiranjeevi’s film ‘Man Shankar Var Prasad Garu’ is planned for the 2026 Sankranti, with direction by Anil Ravipudi. Additionally, Naveen Polishetty’s comedy film ‘Anaganaga Oka Raju’ is also scheduled for January 14. Adding to the potential competition is Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Jan Nayakan,’ slated for release on January 9. This poses a significant challenge, as a clash with these films could lead to a division of the audience, potentially affecting the film’s success.
