As the classic film ‘Sholay’ prepares to mark its 50th year since its release on August 15, 1975, actress Raveena Tandon remembered Mac Mohan, who portrayed ‘Samba’ in the movie. The film, featuring a stellar cast including Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, has left a lasting legacy. Tandon’s reflection on the character ‘Samba’ highlights the enduring impact of the film.
In her remembrance, Tandon said that ‘Sholay’ was the first Hindi film she showed to her daughter Rasha as part of her film training. She added, “Samba will always be immortal in our hearts. I was fortunate to work with the legendary Ramesh Sippy. It is a great achievement for me.” She spoke fondly of Mac Mohan, one of the most loved villains in the Hindi film industry. She further added, “He was the villain I knew from my heart.”
