Tragedy struck New Delhi on Monday evening as a powerful car bomb exploded near the Red Fort, resulting in the deaths of at least eight individuals and leaving numerous others injured. The incident unfolded at approximately 7 pm near the Subhash Marg traffic signal, where a Hyundai i20 reportedly detonated, causing a massive fire that consumed several vehicles and auto-rickshaws. Emergency services worked diligently to contain the blaze. Responding to the grave situation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah noted the rapid deployment of Delhi Crime Branch and Special Branch units. ‘Teams from the Delhi Crime Branch and Delhi Special Branch arrived at the spot within 10 minutes of receiving the information,’ Shah reported, adding that the blast tragically led to fatalities and damaged numerous vehicles. In the wake of this devastating event, Bollywood celebrities have shared their heartfelt condolences on social media. Actress Raveena Tandon expressed her deep sorrow, calling the incident ‘horrible.’ Actor Sonu Sood called for solidarity with the victims and advocated for peace. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni took to Instagram to send prayers and demand severe punishment for the perpetrators. Public figures from other sectors also conveyed their shock and sympathy.
