Review: Murderbaad – A Film That Demands to Be Seen

‘Murderbaad,’ a film based on a difficult subject, presents a unique viewing experience. Although overshadowed by unfortunate circumstances, the film’s narrative, centered around necrophilia, captivates despite its unsettling theme. Arnab Chatterjee, the writer, director, and producer, approaches the subject matter with a daring mix of sensitivity and a hint of pulp. The film’s pacing could have been improved with tighter editing, which might have refined the portrayal of the protagonist. The cast delivers solid performances, particularly Nakul Rohan Sahdev, who portrays the necrophilic character. Manish Chaudhary’s performance, though constrained, adds to the film’s depth. The shift in the story’s setting from Jaipur to Kolkata adds an interesting dimension to the narrative. Despite its flaws, the film navigates its complex theme without descending into sensationalism, offering a thought-provoking cinematic experience, punctuated by a memorable musical score.
