Following the success of ‘Stree 2’ and other potential films, Shraddha Kapoor is set to appear in a significant new project. This film will see her collaborate with the team behind a recent box office success starring Vicky Kaushal. The film is titled ‘Vittha’ and will be directed by Laxman Utekar, produced by Dinesh Vijan, and will see Kapoor portraying Vithabai Narayangaonkar, a Lavani artist also known as the ‘Tamasha Queen.’ Narayangaonkar was a significant figure in Maharashtra’s folk theatre, known for her impactful performances and influence on Marathi culture. The producers have obtained rights from her family in Pune and are preparing to commence filming. Casting is ongoing, including finding a male lead to star alongside Kapoor. The movie aims to showcase the intersection of Bollywood and regional art, echoing the success seen with ‘Chhava’ which was also filmed in Pune.
