Sourav Ganguly Biopic: Rajkummar Rao to Step into the Role of ‘Dada’

Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao is set to embody Sourav Ganguly in a biographical film. The actor shared his excitement about the project, acknowledging the responsibility that comes with portraying such an iconic figure. The film’s release is planned for December 2026, with principal photography beginning in January. The pre-production phase, including story writing and scripting, is underway. The director’s name is still unknown, but speculation points towards Vikramaditya Motwane. Ganguly, who captained India from 1992 to 2008 and scored over 18,000 runs in Tests and ODIs, has given his approval to the casting. Rao is currently engaged in another project, a dark comedy directed by Aditya Nimbalkar, before focusing on the biopic.
