The Chennai Police arrested Tamil-Telugu actor Srikanth, whose real name is Sriram, due to a positive drug test result and evidence found on his phone suggesting involvement in drug-related activities. Following questioning, the police presented evidence linking Srikanth to a drug network, which resulted in his appearance before a magistrate. He has been placed in judicial custody until July 7th and is planning to file a bail application. The investigation revealed that Srikanth allegedly purchased cocaine approximately 40 times, at Rs 12,000 per gram, using Google Pay to spend a total of Rs 4.72 lakh. A government hospital confirmed the presence of narcotics in his blood. The initial investigation stemmed from the arrest of Prasad, a former AIADMK IT wing member, after a disturbance at a Nungambakkam pub. Prasad identified Srikanth as a regular customer. Pradeep also claimed to have seen Srikanth using drugs at multiple parties, pinpointing Prasad as the supplier. Srikanth, of Tamil and Telugu heritage, began his career in 1999 with the TV show Jannal – Marabu Kavithaigal and later transitioned to film in 2002 with Roja Kootam.
