The latest collaboration between Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam, ‘Thug Life’, has not met initial box office expectations. The film, which generated considerable pre-release buzz, is facing difficulties in theaters. According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 3.25 crore on its fifth day of release, resulting in a total collection of Rs 40.15 crore. Kamal Haasan has also highlighted the importance of maintaining a sufficient gap between theatrical and OTT releases to benefit both platforms. The actor also spoke about the issue of language imposition, emphasizing that linguistic diversity should be respected across the country, not just in the South. ‘Thug Life’ features a star-studded cast, including Trisha, Silambarasan, and others.
