Delhi’s cultural scene buzzed as Alok Kumar, VHP’s International President, unveiled the striking poster for ‘Godaan’—a film championing cow protection—poised for imminent cinema release. His glowing IANS remarks on Monday highlighted the trailer’s excellence, marking strong backing from a key figure.
Echoing Gandhi’s ethos, Kumar elaborated, ‘Gandhiji placed gau raksha above swaraj, actively serving cows and pledging to forgo their milk for the young ones.’ This historical lens framed the film’s relevance.
Kumar shared a poignant memory: ‘In my boyhood, the November 7, 1966, movement for cow reverence drew national crowds—saints and laypeople alike. Yet, police aggression with lathis and shots marred the peaceful gathering, as my uncle and I witnessed firsthand.’
He decried persistent cow slaughter nationwide as ‘our collective misfortune.’ Urging action, he added, ‘Intense faith and security measures are essential. Cities battle cow stray issues, but sustaining them means maternal care—pure dedication like a mother’s for her child.’
Envisioning broad appeal, Kumar prophesied, ‘Godaan will stir souls across India.’ With blessings for the crew, he expressed certainty of audience embrace.
