The film ‘Lagaan,’ based on a true story, depicted India under British rule and the introduction of cricket to the Indian subcontinent. Aamir Khan played the lead role of Bhuvan in the original film. He believes Kaushal naturally embodies these traits, making him a great actor for the role. ‘Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India,’ a musical sports drama, was released in 2001 and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. The film starred Gracy Singh opposite Aamir Khan, with supporting roles played by Suhasini Mulay, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Rajendranath Gupta, Raj Zutshi, and Dayashankar Pandey.
