‘Ajey The Untold Story of a Yogi,’ a biopic centered on UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, opened with a collection of 25 lakh rupees. The second day witnessed a modest increase, with earnings reaching 35 lakh rupees, bringing the two-day total to 60 lakh rupees. With a reported budget of 25 crore rupees, the film faces an uphill battle. The first weekend’s performance will be crucial in determining its success.
Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Nishaanchi,’ known for his distinctive filmmaking style, also struggled at the box office. The film earned 25 lakh rupees on its opening day, with a slight dip on the second day, collecting 30 lakh rupees. The total earnings for the first two days stood at 55 lakh rupees, suggesting the film might fall short of earning 1 crore rupees in its first weekend.
In the race between ‘Ajey The Untold Story of a Yogi’ and ‘Nishaanchi,’ both films show similar performances. Although ‘Nishaanchi’ has a higher budget by 10 crore rupees, its earnings are slightly lower than the Yogi biopic. Consequently, the biopic currently leads in terms of collections. However, both films have underperformed considering their respective budgets.
