Governor of Chhattisgarh, Ms. Anusuiya Uike attended a ‘cultural evening’ program organized by the Department of Culture at Muktakashi Manch, Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum, on the occasion of Independence Day here this evening. The governor was the chief guest of the event. He inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. Children of Kopalvani, folk artists Ms. Garima Diwakar, Mr. Anuj Sharma and Mrs. Mamta Chandrakar, Bharti brothers gave their presentations at the program. The Governor keenly watched and appreciated the program presented by the artists. On this occasion, Ms. Uike unveiled the statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi located in the Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum complex. He also laid a wreath on the freedom fighters inscription. The Governor visited the painting exhibition made by the differently-abled children there. The program also honored freedom fighters and artists. Assembly Speaker Dr. Charan Das Mahant, Leader of Opposition Mr. Dharamlal Kaushik, Lok Sabha MP Mr. Sunil Soni, former Minister and MLA Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal, Secretary of Culture Department Mr. Avinash Champawat and other dignitaries were present.
